Most of my work tends to have a hidden message. Going beyond the paint brush, using the tools of a sculptor to claw beneath the surface, digging down to the lower layers. Literally peeling beneath the artwork itself. Exposing an innate emotional vulnerability and visceral rawness.
The repetitive drawings used by unconventional tools, the scratches of lines, or scars, pulled out from below into the surface, lay open and bare.
The Pigment, paper and gauze are integral to the work, just as blood, flesh, fascia and bones are to a body.
In some ways, it is self portrait, my own language of experiences, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, weaved together, strong and fragile, malleable and dense, jovial and sorrowful. Creating a tapestry, a work of art, a life story. Contact ondine for more info:
